Bonding technology

Can I stick the grab bar to any tile?

Almost all solid or load-bearing smooth and rough surfaces are suitable. Especially for high-quality materials such as stone, ceramics (tiles), glass, concrete, metal, and wood, which one usually prefers not to drill into and thus damage, delficare products are predestined.

Conversely, loose plaster, wallpaper, and textile surfaces (e.g., carpet) are unsuitable for such surface mounting due to their lack of strength and load-bearing capacity. No adhesion is possible on polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon).

Can I also use the products outdoors?

No problem at all! The adhesive is non-putrefying, UV-resistant, water-resistant, and not susceptible to frost (though the temperature during application should be between +5 and +40 degrees Celsius). Naturally, the substrate requirements are the same as for indoor use.

Do the products also hold on rough surfaces?

The surface texture does not affect the adhesive's bonding strength – on a slightly roughened surface, the adhesive holds even better due to the additional mechanical interlocking.

Surface texture makes a difference more in the removal of the adhesive. To remove the silicone-like adhesive residue-free from the gaps and pores of rough surfaces, it requires – unlike on glass or smooth tiles, for example – the use of silicone remover, pure alcohol, and a scrub brush. However, the adhesive can usually be removed residue-free even with these methods.

Can I also use the grab handle underwater?

No!

The adhesive should not be permanently submerged in water. Use in swimming pools, steam baths, or rooms with permanently high humidity is not suitable for this system.

Cleaning

The surface to be covered must first be thoroughly cleaned. It must be completely free of grease and dirt for the adhesive bond to hold optimally. A cleaning kit with all necessary materials is included in the delivery.

Remove protective film

Then, the protective film on the back of the adhesive adapters is removed.

Press down/Fix

Fix the grab bar to the cleaned adhesive spots and press firmly. For horizontal alignment, use a spirit level.

Fill with adhesive

Remove the grab handle and then apply the adhesive.

Allow adhesive to cure

The adhesive now requires 24 hours to cure. During this time, do not stress the grab handle or the adhesive adapter. Protect the adhesive adapter from moisture for the first 12 hours.

Disassembly

If the grab handle is no longer needed, it can be easily removed. To do this, detach the grab handle from the adhesive adapter. This can then be carefully removed from the wall using a spatula and hammer.
